Almost all the social media platforms have their own earning model through their users. Many social media platforms use to run ads to monetize their platform. Till now the WhatsApp is the only social media messaging platform which is not monetized or has no earning model. But WhatsApp is now going to be monetized and that will be the primary model of monetization for the company.

How does youtube earn?

 

World’s largest online video community, yes I am talking about YouTube. Even YouTube has its own earning model whenever we click on a video to watch it then we can easily see ads on monetized Channels. YouTube charges money from the respected business owners for showing their ads to the visitors of YouTube. In fact, the most interesting part of YouTube is that It gives the opportunity to the channel owners or creators to earn money with their videos. Some part of the money from ads is given to the video creators and rest amount is taken by YouTube itself. This amount is known as the earning of YouTube.

 

WhatsApp Ads  or WhatsApp Monetization

 

Like all the other social media giants, WhatsApp is also going to monetize their platform. WhatsApp is now going to put ads in its status feature. This feature is popularly known as WhatsApp status feature.

 

Chris Daniels, VP of WhatsApp confirmed that they are preparing to put ads in the WhatsApp status.

 

WhatsApp president Chris Daniels said that “The advertisement in WhatsApp status is going to be the primary monetization model for the company. The advertisement in WhatsApp status will also give opportunities to the businesses to reach the people on WhatsApp.”

 

Daniel had not given any timeline regarding the implementation of this Ad feature in WhatsApp.

 

WhatsApp has over 1.5 billion users in the world. But if we talk about only India, WhatsApp has over 250 million users.

 

It has been concluded from the reports that the WhatsApp Ads would be powered by Facebook’s native advertisement system. These ads will help users and businesses to reach the right business and people respectively through the messaging app.
